Vinyasa Flow the translation from sanskrit of vinyasa means “to place in a special way.” Each movement is a gradual progression from one to the next. The movement is aligned and linked with the breath so that you move with each inhale and exhale.
Prenatal Yoga classes prepare pregnant women for labor and delivery through postures, breathing exercises and relaxation. Postnatal Yoga is geared to the special needs of new mothers. Babies of pre-crawling age are welcome to this class. The Postnatal practice focuses on helping to restore alignment and tone and provide relief from lifting, carrying, and nursing. The Postnatal class provides a supportive community for new mothers and babies 4 weeks old to crawling.
Mom & Baby Yoga Connect in this 4 week series moms get an opportunity for self-care, both through gentle yoga to get connected with the body and time to talk with other moms who are going through early parenting at the same time. Mom & Baby Yoga Connect is for you to connect with your body, your baby, and your community at the same time.
Your 4-week session will give you the consistency to begin make connections with other local moms who are going through similar up’s-and-down’s. Each session is paced based on the collective needs of the group with about half the time focused on gentle mixed-level yoga, a bit of time for developmental play or infant massage, then the rest of time talking about common issues of early parenthood.
Whether you want to gently restore strength in your core and your pelvic floor, ease “baby holding” tension in your neck, chest, and shoulders, ward off “baby blues” or just get out of the house for a bit, this mixed-level Mom & Baby yoga class helps you reconnect with your body and your Oakland-area mom community.
Private Yoga Classes are classes that are designed just for you. Group classes are very beneficial, but they usually don't allow time for individualized attention. Sometimes you just want more! Maybe you'd prefer to practice in a quiet setting. Maybe you have an injury that limits your abilities in public classes.
